About
Hello World!
I am Sahil! I work at Ike Robotics working on perception problems for automated trucks. Previously, I was in the Special Projects Group at Apple working on autonomous systems. I have deep expertise is autonomous vehicles technologies, specifically in the perception domain e.g. computer vision, deep learning, statistical state estimation, multi-target tracking etc.
Until December 2015, I was a graduate student at the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University where I built and crashed drones, learned about computer vision and geometry, messed with coordinate transforms for robots, and programmed pervasive computing and computer vision based iOS and Android apps. I attended college in India at BITS Pilani where I studied Computer Science.
I am an aspiring entrepreneur and am working towards acquiring skills to do my own deep tech startup in the future. I am associated with the BITS Spark program which is a network of angel investors that fund startups started by alumni from my college (BITS Pilani). I led the program from 2016-2018. At CMU I was a James R. Swartz Entrepreneurial Fellow. This fellowship is awarded to 12 graduate students across CMU and is sponsored by Jim Swartz, the founder of Accel partners.
I am an avid reader and love to read fiction and various other topics like science, philosophy, history and entreprenurship. I am a sports maniac (play not watch!) and half-marathoner. My favorite sports are Basketball and Squash.
